Sorry for the long break. Sunday night a rumors was spread that my company would be having lay offs the following day.

Monday morning it happened.

About 20 people lost there jobs. We have about 150 employees, so it was a big hit. Some of the sweetest, kindest, hard working people are out of a job. They're been with the company for decades.

I've been sick to my stomach over this. Everyone is very emotional and scared.

Luckily, I still have my job. I'll be getting my ducks in a row incase layoffs happen again  :(

And now I will leave you with this lovely picture, which I need framed in my house immediately.

3 years ago, I married this guy.

For us, marriage wasn't a big deal. I let my mom do most of the planning.

We had already made a life long commitment to each other.

Something along the lines of "if you leave I'm coming with you" and "this is forever, you're not going anywhere"

I think I was the calmest bride in history. I had no trouble falling asleep the night before. In fact, I over slept.

I was calm until I put my dress on. Then I started feeling a little jittery.

As soon as my dad took my arm, tears. Even though B and I weren't big on a wedding(we wanted to elope) There's something very special about saying the same vows millions of people have said to each other, in front of your loved ones.

I love you.

I love the life we've built.

I'm proud to be your wife.

I love you B$.

Football Food!

Confession. I hate football.

I don't understand it, therefore I find it boring.  I hate watching the players and coaches mouth off every week. It makes my blood boil.

Growing up I was raised a 9er fan. I went to a few games at Candlestick, mostly for the cotton candy. My 2 great Uncles were die hard fans. The gene skipped me. Baseball is my game.

MY adorable Aunt Jane. Her husband Paul was my Grandfather's brother. He had a man cave before they were cool.

Uncle Bill and my brother. Always reppin the 9ers.

My husband is a die hard Raider fan. He loves them. The loyalty he has to his team is unreal.

Since were in Texas and won't be tailgating this year, I thought I'd share some yummy food that's good for watching the game!

Stuffed JalapeƱos!

So easy, so spicy!

Cut in half, remove the seeds and membrane , fill with cream cheese and wrap with bacon!  These tastes bests when cooked on a grill. The bacon gets nice and crispy and the pepper roasts :)

My good friend, Cynthia makes these for tailgating and they're always a hit! They're great because you can use almost anything to make them, travel well and kids will eat them.

This one is so simple! Toss it in the crock pot early in the morning and you're done! I like to have tortillas, rolls and cole slaw for this one. It stays warm for the whole game. This is a spicy one, not kid or Angelina friendly.

I made this for a girls night and it was so good! Being from CA I'd never had it, apparently it's a Texas tailgating staple. I'm thinking of swapping out the taco seasoning for red enchilada sauce.

Today the Raiders are playing the Ravens. Please pray for us that the Raiders win.

Happy Game Day!

Fri yay!

Today I'm linking up with The Java Mama! for Friday favorites.

Today's theme is Where are you from?

My city! I lived in between the hill and that big ass mountain. Fun fact. You can climb the hill and if you bring cardboard you can slide down the letters. Make sure you use the bathroom first though or you might pee your pants when sliding down the S. Not that I've ever done that…..

I am a proud resident of South City! I always say I'm from San Francisco because if I say I'm from SSF, people think I'm from the Mission or SOMA.

South City was a great place to grow up. Just like SF it was a huge melting pot of culture. The police grew up there so you knew them and respected them. The clerks at Safeway have worked there since before I was born. Dave was my favorite, he worked the express checkout and was so much fun!

This is on the corner of El Camnio Real (which runs through the whole state) and Spruce. If you've never had See's, you're missing out. It is seriously the best and I'm such a snob, growing up eating it straight from the factory.

There are 2 ways to tell it's Christmas time.

1. is when they put Santa on top of the building

2. Is when they light the Christmas tree on top of Sign hill.

It's lit Thanksgiving weekend and stays lit until January. It's such a small thing, but everyone gets really excited about it.

South City is also home to some of the most amazing food you'll ever eat.

Gunther's is the local greasy spoon. They run daily specials. My favorite being Monday night's all you can eat pasta.

El Faro has the best burritos on the planet. Anyone who says otherwise is a liar. My Papa was their first customer when they opened. My godmother sent me 2 burritos on ice for my birthday and I cried. And ate them cold.

I miss you most of all. The bread is baked fresh hourly. When you get it, it's still warm and soft and crusty and only half of it ends up making it home, because some how the other half gets eaten on the way home.

Bertolucci's . It smells and tastes of my childhood. You know when you go and visit an older relative and there house has an old people/comforting smell. Does that make sense? That's what Bertolucci's is for me. It feels like home. Big celebratory dinners with the family when you could still smoke inside and your Papa would give you the cherries out of his manhattan. Good times.

I hope everyone has had a good weekend! B and I are kid free tonight and will be celebrating our anniversary a little early! Have a happy and safe weekend!

Current faves.

I'm loving this song. Anyone else think Eric Nally sounds like Michael Jackson during the chorus? It's what caught my attention on the radio.

All of these little cuties. I've watched the Sacconejolyspixiwoo, and Tanya Burr on and off for a few years and recently discovered Zoella and Louise.

To say I'm obsessed is an understatement. I keep trying to work british slang into conversations.

Picked up a few new beauty goodies from Walmart and I'm loving them! I'm hoping to film write a review next week.

And it rained in California last night!!! I'm so happy! I don't know if you've been following on the news, but wild fires have taken over and the destruction is unbearable to look at. It just breaks my heart.  If you'd like to help, here are some links my cousin (who lives in the area and is working with) has posted. Click herehere and here.

I'm so glad Monday is over. Happy Tuesday!

Happy Monday!

I hope everyone had a great weekend. The temps are dropping and we've been enjoying the cool breeze!

Friday AT&T service went down. No cable, internet or wireless. Which was lovely considering Ryan got sick at school and the school couldn't get ahold of me.

Poor cubs fell asleep as soon as I got him home.

Saturday was the laziest of all the days. The boys spent the night with Grandma. Sunday we went to breakfast and a quick Walmart trip where I picked up these cuties.

Just the measuring cups, I couldn't find the pitcher.

Today I'm linking up with Colleen from Meet the Sullivans for Menu Monday!

I only have Monday and Tuesday planned. I'm hoping it gets cool enough this week to make a pot roast.

I've made this before and its so good! The boys and B love it! I love that I can still make them a delicious dinner, even though I have work. And all B has to do is boil pasta.

I've never tried this before but it seems good. A local mom posted it on Facebook. It will be served with rice and veggies. I'll report back later in the week.

What are you making for dinner?

Falling for Fall!

Growing up in the Bay Area, temps never went above 70, it was always foggy and drizzly. A never ending Fall. Living in Texas If the temp is 70 people are in coats and boots!

While the heat has been nice I'm looking forward to chillier weather. Here are some pretties I'm hoping to add to my closet.

blanket scarf. I love the dual print!

Blue Blazer. Similar found here.

Bourbon & Bowties! I found them through Instagram and love these bangles! So sweet!

Alex & Ani! My sweet cousin and her wife sent me a San Francisco bangle about a year ago and I just love it so much. It's so special.

Turban Beanie! I know I'm late to the party on this one! I have a few turban head bands and just love them! How chic is this beanie!

I'm still on the hunt for the perfect boots! Stay tuned :)

Fall Decorations.

Happy Monday Tuesday! I hope everyone had a great weekend! I had work :( B took the boys to the lake yesterday, I stayed behind to clean up, Ryan got sick in the middle of the night.

I look forward to the day he's old enough to clean up  his own sick. That boy just loves to throw up.

Today I thought I would share with you how I decorated the house for fall. The pumpkins went up September 1st and I'm adding little pieces as I find them.

Side note: is anyone else horrified at the prices for decorations this year?! I almost fainted at Michael's this weekend! $20 for a plain orange pumpkin. NO.NOPE. NOT GOING TO HAPPEN.

On top of my kitchen counter.

We have this weird little cutout in our living room. I keep my Papa there at all times. He was a gift for my mom at Christmas and quite possibly my favorite gift ever. I added 2 little pumpkins that i got at Kirklands a few years ago.

The A and the M are from Hobby Lobby.

Our Mantle.

The Acorns are from The Rusty Chandelier.

Kirklands, Target and the dollar store!

Mini pumpkins bought at Hobby Lobby last year.

The garlands are from the dollar spot at Target! Hurry! I was there today and there were hardly any left!

These are from The Rusty Chandelier. Which is a local shop.

My disco ball pumpkin was a steal I find her at TJ Maxx. I know you shouldn't have favorite but...

I'm hoping to add more to the kitchen this week. I'll share what I end up with soon.

Dining room update!

Hello Hello! Happy Thursday! It's almost Friday! Today is my day off, so I decided to paint the dining room/kitchen.

I used Behr in French Silver. B actually picked the color and he did a great job!

I ran out of green tape, so the top edging is a little messy.

There was some damage to the walls due to the glue that held the crown molding. B sprayed on some wall texture last night and it turned out great!

Almost done!

The previous owners of our house, put crown molding up around the windows….

I'll let that sink in for a moment.

I never took pictures of it because it was so hideous. I got so annoyed looking at it one night, I grabbed a hammer and ripped it all out. #hulksmash

I wrote about my inspiration for our dining room here.

B is dead set on no curtains. Good thing I love to surprise him. :)

Hopefully blinds will be put in next week! Stay tuned!
